"People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. I’ve learned that a lie is an act of self-abdication because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality. That person’s view requires to be faked…The man who lies to the world is the world’s slave from then on…There are no white lies, only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all."

It’s Tuesday, May 24th; I turn 53 in three days; I’m getting old and love it. My 52nd year was one of my best; I like getting older, which is better than the alternative. I have been blessed with decent health, a wife that takes care of me, children that love me, and a family that lets me be me. I worked around the house yesterday; we went to a new hot chicken sandwich restaurant and had a pleasant visit with the owner. We came home and worked, had a staff meeting, and had exciting times at our company.

I talked to my mother last night; she is in Cleveland visiting my sister. They will be over on Sunday for our annual birthday celebration. I am having tacos on Saturday, expecting a few friends to show up. Tomorrow my friend Josh gets in town from CO. He’s going to hang with us and might bring a friend. Having one of our Colorado friends experience our Indy existence will be fun.

Pfizer is coming for your kids; they now have a shot to protect those under five. I don’t know if I had a kid if I would subject them to the jab; I will be asking my kids if they will be shooting up our grandkids; I think the data is straightforward, the kids are safe, but Pfizer needs to hit their profit target so vaccines for all!

The year is almost half over; how are you doing in 2022? Is this a banner year or one you would rather forget about? We have surging gas prices which do not seem to garner any news. I filled up my forerunner last week, and it was $90.00. they say gas might hit $10.00 a gallon, yet the current administration has no plans to address the surge. I think they want gas to spike to we are forced to use other sources of energy, solar, wind, etc. wouldn’t that be cool if we could run our cars on solar? But we can’t, so gas it is. November will be a blood bath for the party in charge. The proof is in the policy.

I just checked my ring camera; it’s 5:00 a.m. out west, still dark, the ground is covered in snow, and we got 12 inches this past weekend. I’m sure it will warm up, and the snow will disappear. We were going to head back on the first of June but have decided to stay here through the 15th to celebrate my Mother and Father’s 60th wedding anniversary. We also have our neighborhood Italian fest and Pride that weekend, a busy time before heading west.

Did you see the story about State Farm donating books? Say what you want about the insurance industry, but we now have a major corporation giving away books about nonbinary and transgender children. According to emails linked to @consumersfirst, State Farm is engaging in the woke indoctrination of children five years plus about alternative lifestyles. When I was a child, this was a nonstarter; I didn’t know that we needed to be teaching sex ed at such a young age?  If you are insured with State Farm and are upset, we would love to help you with your home and auto insurance, and we promise not to harm kids.

My wife is up; the pup has been fed her green beans, kibble, and chicken. She’s spoiled, but we love her; she’s a beautiful addition to our family. She just rang her bell, which indicates she needs to go outside; she’s smart and sassy. Joleen, our borrowed cat, is roaming around, being loud, talking, we have a small zoo here, and I think Jo will be heading west with us; we will bring her back in August.

I’m working from home today, I have a few virtual meetings, and tomorrow, I hit the road and head north. I will clean my teeth and meet my daughter for a birthday lunch. I used to get my teeth cleaned every three months, but now it seems I can only make it every six months due to our travel schedule. I enjoy getting my teeth cleaned; I still do all my medical work in the Midwest; maybe one day, I’ll find a doctor and dentist in the mountains.

The words are not coming easy today; I’m not sure why; somedays, I can pen my thoughts in a matter of minutes, while other days, it’s more of a challenge. Today it’s a challenge, but I know that soon my mind will throw out some snarky muckraking for the world, today, it’s a bit bland, and I do apologize.

I guess I can always go with my old standby and remind you that you choose how you live your life. You decide how happy you are, and always remember you can find a gift and opportunity in every situation. Most people want to focus on the negative, but in a time of no, there is always a lot of positive. It is up to you to turn your focus on the good, evil exists, but when we choose to focus on all the good happening in our world, life seems a little better. I’ll be back tomorrow with some more words from an aging white man.
