Undertaking the Sacrifices Necessary to Generate a Productive and Meaningful Reality
"To stand up straight with your shoulders back is to accept the terrible responsibility of life, with eyes wide open. It means voluntarily transforming the chaos of potential into the realities of habitable order. It means adopting the burden of self-conscious vulnerability and accepting the end of the unconscious paradise of childhood, where finitude and mortality are only dimly comprehended. It means willingly undertaking the sacrifices necessary to generate a productive and meaningful reality (it means acting to please God, in the ancient language)."

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, or whenever you find these words of hope and spice. It's 6:22 am; the coffee is made PVHT is outside, it's a little chilly, but the sun is to be today; I think we hit 50 yesterday, I think we will have something similar today. We brunched with some friends yesterday, went to the grocery store, and then came home and did nothing.
We watched the Bengals win, started the other game but went to bed early. I guess the Rams won; I'll root for the Bengals in the Super Bowl. I'm an underdog kind of guy. My wife is still in bed, getting the last few winks before joining the pup and me downstairs. Today, we have some virtual meetings, many moving pieces at our company, many new faces, and making some moves; it's an exciting time.
It's the last day of January; how is your year starting? We have had a good run; we started our year off in Florida. Then we made our way back to Indiana and hung out finished up some Midwest work. We headed three days ago to our CO home and will be here until Friday. Friday, we head to Cabo to get some sun and relax. After that, we will return to CO and spend the three months here before heading back to the Midwest. We've got one baby coming in March and another in May, three grandkids before I turn 53, not bad for an aging man.
The sunrise is starting, the light band that forms the morning orchestra has made her appearance, now the band will grow, and soon the sun will make her glorious appearance. I'm very blessed and fortunate to view the sunrise every day while writing a few words of introspection and exploration. I'm asking the world for answers to questions I have been mulling in my mind. My mind never stops; I have multiple ideas forming, it's up to me to pick the one I think has the best chance of turning into something good.
In my smart news app, Japan Kowa says ivermectin showed an "antiviral effect" against Omicron. Unfortunately, our FDA has not approved it for use against COVID, but it seems to work in other countries. So I can pick some up in Mexico, I'll check with my doctor, and if she thinks it a good idea, I'll pick some up in Mexico. My doctor is suspect of the booster for me; she told me not to take it, thinking there will be other variants needing additional booster shots. She thinks two shots are my best protocol at my age and health. I believe in health matters; we should follow our general practitioner's advice.
So how is your life? Is it full of order or chaos? I must say our lives are a little chaotic right now, but I'm not going to wither in the light of some speed bumps. I'm going to throw my shoulders back and accept the terrible responsibility of life. As long as my wife is by my side, there is no obstacle we can not overcome. I've never had anything in life that I could not manage and turn into a gift and opportunity.
Life is not easy; it's full of potholes and rainstorms when you forget your umbrella. When someone you did not expect knocks on your door, welcome them in and meet them where they are. Life is a series of short stories, and you are the author. Who to say what is good and say what is evil. We are a collective of our thoughts and perceptions; make sure you frame everything through the prism of love.
Some Monday soup for your mind, body, and spirit; I hope these words find you well. I hope that life is full of order, and if you find some chaos, you can manage it. Chaos makes you stronger, don't fight it, work with it to make decisions and choices that will serve you and your family long term. Don't live in the moment; live in the pages of each chapter of your life book, and you can't believe what is coming next.
