The Beautiful People, -9 Degrees, Rule Two, The Great Reset, Aye

Well, hello beautiful people, how are you feeling? Did you sleep well? We slept terrifically; we got to bed at 9:00; I didn't wake up until 5:00; I am gifted with sleep, not everyone is so lucky. So I got up and made some coffee, and now I'm sitting in my magical purple bean bag chair by my fireplace.

It's snowing outside; we got a couple of inches, but it's not the snow this week; it's the cold. As of typing these words, we are clocking in -9 degrees. I might see if my wife wants to jump in the hot tub this morning, it might be a steamy fun time?

We worked from home until 12:15 hit the road to meet another agency owner friend. We met for lunch in Littleton; Brad is in a good place; when we first met, he was miserable but now has found his rhythm with a new company. We talked prospecting; I gave him a couple of ideas,  of course, my wife joined me, I rarely do anything without her, I love her, you know, a lot.

I guess the folks in Washington are concerned about the border. Not out border, who cares about our border? It's Ukraine's border that gets them upset, angry, and confused. A substitute teacher is leading our country; the world is taking advantage; I did the same thing in high school; I understand you must do your shenanigans when the teacher is just a substitute for the real deal.  

After a year plus of this administration, it might be time to do a hard reset. So let's hit control, alt, delete and start over.  They want so much to hold on to their COVID powers, but it's now apparent that we can live our lives without fear, but some keep pushing the fear porn.  Oh my, it's warming up; it's now -8 degrees!

I've got our monthly sales meeting this morning, then three other virtual conferences; I don't think I'll do much outside today; it's supposed to be zero or so today and tomorrow. I've got two projects I'm working on for our company, digging in the weeds trying to make sense of some operational items. I'll figure it out; I always do.  Give me a project, any project, and I can see it completed. Sometimes it takes more time than I like, but I have a knack for connecting dots.

I'm rereading Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life; rule two is "Care for yourself with the same tenderness you would a loved one."  It seems we take better care of our pets than we do ourselves. It is essential to find balance in the light and dark.  Instead of doing what makes you happy, do what is best for you. As an adult, you must determine the goals that help define who you are and the direction you want to take in life. Then you will find the steps that you should take and the actions that are best for you.

Do yourself a favor and do something for yourself today. Take time to read something inspirational, maybe pull up a Youtube video that gives you hope. Be a little selfish today, think about what you need, and begin to fill that empty vessel.  My Oura ring has been very good at reminding me of self-care. It gives me ideas as to what to do today, be more restful, maybe I need to move more, if you have the means, maybe invest in an Oura ring and begin using that tool to better care for your wellness.

I just checked the news; there is a shortage of substitute teachers; I was not aware of this when I made my analogy above; if you are not working, why not register with your local school and find out what your local curriculum is these days. Also, our mayor taught a class yesterday to highlight the increased need for the shortage, good on you Mr. Hancock.

Are you watching what's going on north of the border? It seems their leader Justin Castro is using his military and police on his people; they are marching, a reporter got shot yesterday, an older woman got trampled by a horse, good stuff, aye? So is this the start of the great reset, or is it possible we are in stage 4 of 12?  If you are not familiar with the Great Reset, let me give you a link to help expand your mind.

I think I'll leave it right there, exciting times, a lot of chaos, a tiny bit of order; it's up to you how you want to lean in. I'm finding disorder to be enlightening; order is boring! So do your best, take care of yourself, be kind, and remember angels and demons are a part of your everyday existence. Life is not fair, but life is just so open your mind to what is missing in your life and fill the void. Be beautiful today, not in looks, not by what you say, but what you are.
