I got it; you went through a pandemic, and for this last year, things were weird.  Can we stop rehashing this previous year and move on?  For God’s sake, I know, I got it, things changed, but now, we can return to “normal,” a new normal, so please, for the sake of humanity, stop the spew of COVID disruptions and tell me how the hell you are moving forward.

I was attending a program yesterday, and about 63.45% of the presentation was about how COVID impacted their company. Side note - 76.78% of all statistics are made up on the spot! At the end of the meeting, I thought this was a waste of my time; I was there, I understand, but what does is your plan moving forward.

Let’s collectively agree, the last year was one for the ages, but it should not define you or your life.  The government did a pretty good job of speeding up a vaccine; it was pretty fantastic.  Please don’t scream and yell if you disagree with the vaccine; you do you, I’ll do me.  I don’t care where you fall on “you should or should not get vaccinated,” talk to your doctor, and do not listen to “experts.”  We now know most of the experts were lying to control our lives and follow a certain narrative.

So what are you going to do moving forward?  Let’s stop wasting time talking about how we coped, what we did, how damn disruptive our last few months have been, and set a new goal or set of plans.  There is more opportunity today than at any time in the recent future; people want to meet, they want to hear your story, but leave out that last few months of woe is me. Despair, suffering, and sorrow were us, and that’s ok, we all got through it, well most of us did, and those that did not are not speaking anymore. I think the world was a little overpopulated anyway.  That is a joke, a string of words meant to illicit a slight laugh.  I love all humans, I don’t want to see anyone die, but it was inevitable the last time I checked.

I talked to my friend Cole yesterday via test.  He said, “you’ve been grumpy lately?”  I thought my last few soups had been slanted towards the positive, but this one is one of those grinds my gears soups.  Grumpy?  Not really; I’m thrilled, but if you see something, say something, and I am saying let’s move on!  Time is short to kick some ass!

I caught a news story where the Biden, aka Dyin administration, wants you to report radicalizing friends and family members. If you don’t agree with CRT or that this is the most racist country in the history of the world, careful with your tongue; Gladis Kravitz might just report you.  Years ago in Communist Russia, if you disagreed with your neighbor about their fence line, all you had to do was notify the government about their hate of the state, and they would be gone the next day.  Your neighbor was put in a gulag, never to be seen again.   Does this resonate with you? Do you know the path we are heading?

I’m a Star Wars guy meaning that I believe that good triumphs over evil.  If not, Return of the Jedi would have closed with Darth Vader eating his son.  But alas, Luke, Han, Leigh, Chewy, and the crew were hanging out with those little furry dwarfs having a party.  That’s how I know that no matter the shill and thrill of today, we all will be fine.  In all fairness, I’ve not seen the new Star Wars films; maybe the dark side won or is winning, but trust me, the fact that you are reading these words is a nod to Good > Evil.

I had a great meeting yesterday where our speaker was talking about Junior Achievement.  I was active as a young man and would recommend checking out your local JA group if you have some spare time.  They need volunteers; I asked to be a part of our local JA group; I will help spread the word about entrepreneurship to our students.

My favorite project we ran back in Randolph County, Indiana, was where the class contacted five restaurants and offered them “Support Local Businesses” free menus.  I think each got 1000.  We then reached out to 25 local businesses, sold them a box on the menu for $250.00, and delivered the brown and gold menus to our local eateries.  We talked about how to set up an LLC, some potential risk management issues, human resources; like most things, 20% of the kids did 80% of the work; it was a good reminder for my 25-year-old self, leadership is finding that 20%

I’ve got another meeting at 7:30 this morning, an hour and 15 minutes of power with about 20 other business owners.  This meeting is our last virtual meeting; next month, we will be meeting in person.  Thank you, Jesus.  It’s time to get up, get in the car, meet people, hug them, shake their hands, and give love, love, and more love. Give love until you feel like a dried-up love prune.

Well, there you have it, a see something say something version of my view of the world.  You can agree or disagree; I’ll love you just the same.  I’ve got a crew staying the night with us tonight; it should be fun, Woody and his mate are cooking fish and veggies, and I’m serving hot dogs and pasta salad.  You do you, I’ll do me, and forever we can be free.
