Rewired and Loving It! Another epic day in our retired-but-never-bored life! Kicked off the morning with our beloved chores—yep, we’re those weirdos who find joy in a tidy house! The electricians showed up to do some work, so by 9:00, they were ready to cut the power. We hustled through quick showers, tackled a few more tasks, and hit the road by 10:30 for a day of errands and fun.
First mission: snagging an HDMI cable for the kids’ TV. Staples, you made it quick and easy—mission accomplished! Then, we swung by a buddy’s furniture store for a quick hello, fueled up with some Dutch Bros coffee (because caffeine is life), and rolled into Evergreen for lunch at our go-to spot, Murphy’s. Gotta say, it never disappoints! Our server, Clair, was a total rockstar—sassy, quick-witted, and dished it right back at me. Love a young kid with spunk! I went for the protein and sprouts (healthy vibes!), while my wife savored the shrimp salad. If you’re in Evergreen, Murphy’s is a must.
Next, we popped into our friend’s art studio for a chat—always inspiring to see her creativity in action. We wandered through a couple of shops, didn’t buy a thing (self-control win!), and hopped back into the Tesla. Turned on the Full Self-Driving mode and let it cruise us to a local butcher shop. Picked up some primo steaks, dog food, and a few extras for the pantry. Then, off to the UPS store to grab a massive haul of Hot Wheels track for the grandkids’ upcoming visit—gonna be an epic setup! The Tesla’s FSD was flawless, making us feel like we’re living in the future.
Final stop: the grocery store for ingredients for Nae-Nae’s famous Steak Bowl. Sounds like a flavor explosion—can’t wait to taste it! On the drive home, we shot our first video to share with you all. Fair warning: my video editing skills are a work in progress (think “enthusiastic beginner” vibes).
