Punching Babies, Flesh-Eating Insects Killing Puppies, and other Liberty Minded Offerings
“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” — George Orwell
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, or whenever you find these words of hope, joy, and anticipation of another fantastic day. A lovely day here yesterday, a couple of dog walks, a deep dive on a couple of projects, a setup call for a webinar I’m doing today at 10:00, I’m set to talk pretty for 30 minutes with a good friend on Cyber Insurance and how it fits into a companies risk mitigation plans.
I took Parker Van Halen for a walk in the drizzle; one thought was how many owners would not be walking in the rain. I thought how lucky my dog was to have an owner that would bear the elements and take his pup for a leisurely walk this less-than-stellar weather. But then I thought about all the things she does that I’m sure she thinks, “you know most dogs would not do this fetch thing I do?” So I guess it is a two-way street.
My wife got home about 4:00; I took the dog for an afternoon walk; she worked a little. I had made some pork for sliders last night. So I cooked, watched some decent television before going to bed about 8:00 (I know, we are old), and got a great night’s sleep. I think another 10 hour run of blissful sleep; I did wake up about 6:00 and enjoyed snuggling with my wife and pup before getting up to make some strong coffee and pen a few thoughts.
I think there are a couple of things you cannot do in public, you can’t punch a baby, nor can you apply flesh-eating insects to a puppy; either will get you in a bit of trouble. So why is this part of an old white guy’s rants and ravings of the happenings in his world? Well, let me tell you, “F’ing Fauci,” the most incredible doctor in the history of doctoring, is facing allegations that seem to favor the flesh-eating puppy narrative.
According to the New York Post, “Dr. Anthony Fauci is facing calls from a bipartisan group of legislators to respond to allegations that his National Institutes of Health division provided a grant to a lab in Tunisia to torture and kill dozens of beagle puppies for twisted scientific experiments.
In a letter to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and 23 colleagues addressed their “grave concerns about reports of costly, cruel, and unnecessary taxpayer-funded experiments on dogs.”
“According to documents obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request by taxpayer watchdog group White Coat Waste Project, and subsequent media coverage from October 2018 until February 2019, NIAID spent $1.68 million in taxpayer funds on drug tests involving 44 beagle puppies,” the Thursday letter reads.
The White Coat Waste Project report claimed that the researchers locked the dogs in cages with hungry sandflies so that the insects could eat them alive.
A few months ago, I shared that Dr. Fauci was an asshole, and a friend asked me to remove him from my daily blast claiming that Fauci was an American Hero; I frequently want to share updated news stories with him and see if maybe he has rethought his hero-worship of the funding mechanism of the COVID virus.
It’s our 26th day of sobriety, not a bad run for two folks that enjoy the drink. My wife got up and counted on her hands the number of days we have until we are back on the wagon or maybe off the wagon; I never know what is correct; it’s this week our intentional “lent type” marathon is over. It’s been a good month; I started another book yesterday, my fourth this month; it’s good to get back to my reading ways.
I’m still down eight pounds; I usually lose ten this month, I have a couple of days, but I think eight is a sufficient number. I’m at my fighting weight, so anything else is a bonus. My wife is still fasting; she has one last day of just liquids; I’ll be making my food today, tomorrow she can eat like an average person.
Well, I think that is all I have in my writing tank this morning. Not a lot; maybe tomorrow I can share some insight on something other than babies and puppies; it seemed fitting for this morning. I have a few calls to make; I need to set up some appointments later this week and next. It will soon be Thanksgiving, the week will be short, the food will be ready, and football will be on most televisions around the country.
This past year has been an exciting time for introverts while extroverts struggle to keep their minds active missing the human connection. I think we are in that weird, in-between time when folks don’t know what they can and can’t do. So use your personal risk assessment tools, do what you want, when you want, and don’t let anyone else tell you how to live your damn life; you are an adult, act like one.
