“I believe all Americans are born with certain inalienable rights. As a child of God, I believe my rights are not derived from the constitution. My rights are not derived from any government. My rights are not denied by any majority. My rights are because I exist. They were given to me and each of my fellow citizens by our creator, and they represent the essence of human dignity...”
— Joe Biden

Hey Saturday, how are you?  You look lovely in your new blouse and slacks. Would you please join Parker and me for some coffee and conversation?  Excellent, let me get you a cup, I’ll get PVHT a pup cup, and we can see what’s floating around up there in our cerebral cortex.

I had a dream last night; we were having a gathering at a house I did not recognize with people I did not remember, and I saw a man with what appeared to be the glasses I wear.  I motioned to him showed him my glasses, but then noticed that his glasses were not the same but caught the hue from the light above his head, making them look blue.

He walked over and said may I speak with you?  I said, of course.   He shared he had retired from Ball Corporation; this place was “home” he wanted to stay home and would prefer I not mention his name in my writing.  I was puzzled; I did not remember writing about this man, but he claimed I had, and he’d asked four times for me not to reference him or his wife.  I woke up and thought, did I do that and I did not, but it was one of those dreams that stuck, so Saturday, that’s my first topic, dreams!

Saturday, do you have any input on the topic?  No, ok, moving on. I see a slight trend in the media these days as a seemingly way to cover up news that might not fit a particular narrative.   I saw this time and time again in the Rittenhouse trial; I don’t know if you have been following, but when a young man killed two and wounded one in Wisconsin, the media claimed he to be a racist, white supremacist, and maybe Satan himself.  The framing was this young man killed the folks at a Black Lives Matter rally, leading those not engaged with the story to assume he shot people of color.

It turns out the two men were white, one just got out of prison for child molestation, and the other had a criminal history, the third was a man with a gun, and they were attacking him, so he took his rifle in self-defense shot them.  Even President Brandon weighed in, sharing a photo of the young man indicating he was a white supremacist. However, during the trial, it seems this was not the case; the young man had visited the town to help defend businesses and offer medical assistance to those there to riot.  There is even a video of this man explaining his plan and his reason for the trip before he went—another example of the demand for racism being much stronger than the supply.

Saturday, any thoughts?  No, ok, moving on.  As a child, I heard the N-word.  I grew up in a community that was not diverse; I did not meet a person of color until I was in middle school; it was what rural Indiana offered.  I grew up reading Mark Twain, knew the word, and knew it was not kind to say it, so I do not say that collection of letters.   But until yesterday, I was not aware that another N-word was bad.  Maybe I’m lazy; perhaps I’m not keeping up with the times, but I did not know that the word Negro was wrong.

So, President Brandon was giving a speech, and he said the second N-word twice, referring to a pitcher that played in the league that was called the second N-word baseball league.  I guess many got upset, but here’s what I began to notice.  I started seeing stories that claimed the story was wrong.  I had seen the tape, again, was surprised it was a big deal, but many got upset at the leader of the free world.  Between you and me, I feel very sorry for the man; I think he is a shill for a small group of people pulling the levers of society.

I saw a few stories on social media that claimed “the story about President Brandon” was edited and inaccurate. But, I thought, I watched the tape, the man clearly stated the second N-word twice, again, not a big deal to me, but it is to the woke.  It was as if some media outlets were trying to confuse reality.   The problem is anyone can watch the 2-minute video and see exactly what the man said; there should be no confusion.

I think it is time to dispel the idea that our country is systemically racist; I think we do a pretty good job leveling the playing field for all colors, shapes, and sizes. I am sure we could improve; I’m all about solutions and not so sensitive to let words hurt me, but let’s all get on the same page regarding race.  “Throwsy Parks,” the quarterback that lost his starting position and then thought it cool to wear pig socks mocking our men in blue, was recently featured in a movie.  In the film, he depicts the NFL combine with the slave trade.

I think that racism exists, and it must be pointed out.  But making claims like this diminishes actual racism and confuses people trying not to be racist. For example, I saw a comedian last night share a joke that was funny but true.   He said when he’s walking down the road and sees a shady white guy; he crosses the street.  When he’s walking down the street and sees a shady person of color, he can’t cross the street for fear of being labeled a racist.  He shared he would rather be mugged than someone thinking he was racist.

Anything to add Saturday?  No, ok, moving on. Well, my friend, I will say you are a good listener, but you should probably add a few letters and words to your vocabulary.   This seems like a one-sided conversation; Sunday is supposed to be by tomorrow; I’ll see if she has a more engaging conversation style.  Thank you for spending a few moments reading my thoughts; I hope I didn’t offend you; I’m trying to sort out life, liberty, and happiness, and this daily mind dump does help me sort out my views of the world, maybe I can help one more person, and if that happens, I’ll be a happy guy.  Oh, and remember, white is also a color.
