Misunderstood
“Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”

Our last day in Telluride, and what a hell of a ride it has been. We made it to the jazz festival yesterday; we met with a wizard and his partner, spent some time in a campground, walked a few miles just enjoying this scenic little town. I know it’s a drive, but please visit Telluride my new favorite place, if you ever visit Colorado.
Home later today, I miss my wife. I love my friend, we’ve had a great time, but it was a reminder of how much I love and adore my lady. We’ve been in communication, but trust me, she will get a long hug when I see her.
We’ve got a six or 7-hour drive in a bit, we will head back to Salida to pick up Prince Charles Barkley, then back to Conifer, and then my friend will show a house in Parker. So I’ll relax and hang with my Queen and others; a few ladies are staying until tomorrow.
The property values here are ridiculous. My reference point is always been my hometown of Parker City, Indiana. There a home 1200 square feet might cost you $70,000. Here, that same home is 3 to 4 million dollars. So think about that, the same property sitting in the Midwest is 75 times the value by sitting in Galt’s Gulch. Interesting, wouldn’t you say?
An update on our Air B and B from a few days ago, the host finally reached out and shared she had transposed the code, so there’s that. Also, she’s refunding my money; the place we ended up getting is a 10X cooler, so always remember, everything always works out in the end. So do not stress when things blow up; seize the gift and opportunity in every situation.
To me, remember the time you stayed in a bunk bed with a tiny bathroom and living room for my future self. Remember how you slept on the top bunk, Joshua on the bottom, how you ate, walked, drank, then walked again. Remember this magical time as it was another gift from something bigger than yourself.
I bought a new bracelet; it’s magnetic, the man said it would heal me. I didn’t know I needed healing, but the bracelet was fabulous, so I bought two—a little reminder from our time in the magic city. I will be back; I’ll bring my wife, my dog and enjoy this treasure.
My friend is out for a walkabout; he does this every morning, he gets me coffee, we will head north about 9:00; it’s a 7-hour drive, but the beauty one sees on the way makes it an enjoyable journey. Always remember it’s not the destination; it’s the journey that is most important.
We will be in Colorado for another month; we have company coming in, we will entertain, host, rinse, repeat and then host again. I have decided to hire a maid, my wife and I clean the house, but my friend shared he has a woman come and clean weekly; we had a maid in Indy, but never for our CO homes. I’ll be engaging a young man, woman, or transgender when I arrive at home; my Queen needs a respite from all the entertaining we do.
What is one little thing you could do for your partner that would positively impact your relationship? What is a small act of kindness you could do today to better their world? Constant improvement is a concept used in the business world, but I wonder if it might be a good play at home.
Well, my mate will be back shortly with coffee, I’ll sip it, then jump in the shower, and we will hit the road: a great trip, a life-altering experience. I have shared with my friend he has a messianic tinge to his being. He says things that are words to heal and give hope. I would love to share some of his words, but I think I would break his and my trust. So I want to be careful and protect our deep and earnest talks these past four days.
Do you have a friend in your life that speaks a truth that maybe you need to hear? I think moving forward; I’ll get an injection of Joshua regularly; he’s a gift, a sage, a seeker of wisdom and enlightenment. He sees things I don’t see, hears things I don’t hear, and shines a light on those things hidden in the shadows. I have that, and I hope you, too, can find someone that opens your mind and heart.
