“Constantly exposing yourself to popular culture and the mass media will ultimately shape your reality tunnel in ways that are not necessarily conducive to achieving your Soul Purpose and Life Calling. Modern society has generally ‘lost the plot.’ Slavishly following its false gods and idols makes no sense in a spiritually aware life.”

Saturday, you look fabulous; welcome to our mountain top chalet; you know where the coffee is; sit with me while I spin a few tales of mystery and intrigue.  My wife is sleeping, as are our guests; we have two add ons today, Bay and Nate.

I suspect we will hike with PVHT, then get lunch, a drink or two, and head home to cook.  It’s beautiful up here today, warm, summer-like, a last blast of warmth before the chill of fall.

We worked until 3:00 yesterday; my friend Jay and his family were in town from Illinois, so they stopped by to get a tour.  I met his son for the first time; he works at Coors as a taster.  A dream job for many, he enjoys his work.  I think he and I might play a round of golf soon, a lovely young man.

We dined at Brooks and then headed home to play Euchre; Bay and I took on Nate, and my wife, Bay, and I won a couple of games before we turned on some silly television show.  It is interesting to me that parts of the country don’t know what Euchre is; for those in the dark, Euchre is a card game played by four people.  Google it.

They shared the names of the men and women we lost in Afghanistan.  I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose a family member in such conditions. So many are wondering how this current situation will play out; I think we are in for a rough few days; time will tell.  I ask that you say a prayer for our brave men and women exiting the shit show.

In other news, we live in the most accessible country in the world, don’t forget that fact; we have rights, freedoms that other societies do not grant, do not let your freedoms wane, stand up and fight for your rights.  I spoke to a friend in Missouri yesterday; the media and local hospitals claimed they were overwhelmed by the Delta Variant.  Some hospital workers shared the truth; they were not overwhelmed; it was a media spin.  There was a large protest, and magically the Delta Variant issue in their town disappeared, now is the time to stand up and push back against those that want to limit your ability to live your life in the way you see fit.

I listened to NPR yesterday on our way down the hill.  They were interviewing a doctor from South Dakota; there were about 600,000 folks that attended the Sturgis Ralley, about 200 got COVID; you could hear the sneer in the interviewers’ voice about the lack of intelligence of those folks that wanted to assemble.  Freedom of assembly is a right, don’t forget that during these unique times.

It’s almost September; how would you rate your 2021? First, I would share this has been an excellent year for my wife and me.  We got married, our business continues to thrive, we have a solid team, our family is tight, we have so many things to be thankful for; even in these uncertain times, we can find a cornucopia of goodness.

The smoke is back; we now get a day or two of clarity after it rains before the smoke returns.  This smoky existence might be our life until winter; I suspect winter will remove the smoke, and we will see what spring brings.   The sunrises are tinged with smoke, it’s a beautiful morning awakening, but I don’t think designed by something bigger than ourselves.  There is a dark art bent to the smoky scene.

Soon, the kids are getting up; all will be sipping coffee, laughing about last night, planning our day of movement, dining, and debauchery.  We have a bachelorette party to attend tomorrow; then, we head back to Red Rocks for the Black Crows.  We have tickets for one more show, and then our Red Rocks season comes to an end.  We are in a position we could do Red Rocks every night, there is a show for any taste or flavor, but the venue itself offers magic to those who make the journey.

I’m blessed, I’m lucky, and I try not to take things for granted.  I give freely of my treasure to others in need and think we are very close to a reunion of people. Fortunately, the forces driving us apart are getting weak; the time of enlightenment and understanding is returning with a vengeance.   A hopeful thought in a dire time of “misinformation.”

Here’s a question, who gets to deem a thought or idea misinformation?  One man’s misinformation is another man’s information.  Take, for example, the idea that the pandemic came from a lab in China.  For many months if you even speculated that idea, you would be censored.  The powers that be, meaning the asshole Tony had an idea, and it was naturally made.  But now we know he had emails and an understanding it may indeed have come from a lab. So, hey Tony, is it possible that the virus came from a lab? Hey Facebook, can I even share that idea?

Is it misinformation to say a man is a man and a woman is a woman? So careful there, buddy, you might get in trouble for that “misinformation?”  the people that claim they want to follow the science have little regard for the actual science.  Oh well, who are I, and a better question is who you are?  I know me, but do you know me?

We had a guest how shared Ouray, CO, is a great spot.  My wife and I are going to Telluride in a couple of weeks; I will show her the tiny town in the box cannon, but we will check out Ouray during our visit. Ok, everyone’s up; I’m now sitting at the kitchen bar; we are going to Golden to the Farmers Market, we will take PVHT, and have the best day, and I hope you do as well.
