It’s Never Too Late

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit; stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same; there are no rules. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, or whenever you find these words. We are back at our mountain top chalet; we arrived about 4:30, we had a lovely evening, made tacos, watched some Netflix, and chilled. We worked yesterday from our downtown condo; Bay rested and got feeling better; she sent us a note this morning she is flying home, we had a good trip, and she’s returning in a few weeks with Cousin and our kid.

Today I’ve got four virtual meetings; we will hike this afternoon; the weather is fantastic, 60’s and sunny up here. The entire week looks like spring before slipping back to a bit of winter this weekend. The sunrise is glorious; it’s currently in the light orange phase, the sun has yet to make her appearance.

This item just popped up in my news feed from the Washington post “most Americans say the coronavirus is not yet under control and support restrictions to try and manage it.” So that’s what people want? Do they want someone to tell them how to live their lives? Nope, I’m not buying that story; that seems like misinformation or maybe disinformation to me. So it’s over, folks, carry on.

The house passed a bill making lynching a federal hate crime. Is lynching still a thing? When was the last lynching? I agree with the law, but it seems a little late? Tomorrow they will make it illegal to make prank phone calls on landlines. How about some legislation that addresses some of the issues we are currently facing as a country? Why not work on inflation, supply chain issues, the border? We have some problems, and I don’t think lynching or using a landline to make a prank call is top of anyone’s legislative agenda? How about less regulation and more free-market policies?

Russia continues its attack on Ukraine; I have a friend from Ukraine, he still has family and friends that live there. Victor visits, and I can’t imagine what he is thinking. The sanctions seem to be slamming the Rubel, so we are told. I must share I am very suspect of the news these days. It’s more about pushing a narrative than reporting factual information.

The state of the union is tonight; I’ll tune in to hear what kind of vision Ol Joe has for us. I think he will spin our reality to make you think things are fantastic; the media will support the idea, and then if you go to the independent news sites, you’ll get the real deal. My friends at Breaking Points will do a live analysis; if you want the truth, watch Breaking Points.

Colorado is getting a new driver’s license. According to the article, it’s the most beautiful card in the country. But remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The first prison-run radio station has launched in Colorado. Much like lynching and landlines, this seems a little out of the space-time continuum? I could see giving the felons a podcast, but a radio show?

It’s peaceful here; my cat is lying about 3 feet from my bean bag, my wife and pup are asleep. The sun is now up, the coffee is strong, and it’s a great start to another fantastic day. I am blessed beyond measure; I am very fortunate to have a life something bigger than myself deemed I should live. So live with curiosity and wonder, question things that don’t make sense, and give your treasure to others. Be kind; smiles are free, and if you get up every day and do your best, you will positively impact your community and society.

Two months are gone, ten remain; how do you plan to use this time to improve your life? I’m going to focus on my wife, family, clients, and friends and help others in need. Love yourself first, then love others; all we need is love. Let it be, let it be, let it be.
