International Labor, The Demise of Social Security, Psychopath Leadership, Dystopian Times
“Only a psychopath would ever think of doing these things, only a psychopath would dream of abusing other people in such a way, only a psychopath would treat people as less than human just for money. The shocking truth is, even though they now have most if not all of the money, they want still more, they want all of the money that you have left in your pockets, they want it all because they have no empathy with other people, with other creatures, they have no feeling for the world which they exploit, they have no love or sense of being or belonging for their souls are dead, dead to all things but greed and a desire to rule over others.”

Good morning friends, lovers, brothers, mothers, and others; it’s smoky up here, visibility is way down, but the sunrise has an extra pizzaz. It’s 6:30 a.m., the coffee is made, my wife is asleep, we have a guest in town, she went to Jimmy Buffet last night, we were home early and went to bed. Our sleep is magical.
We started looking at some international labor. For example, we need to outsource some low-level data entry and management; we have partnered with a firm from Seattle with a significant presence in the Philippines. I sat in on one interview and was impressed with the quality of the talent, and her English was excellent. We plan to start with 20 hours and then add as we continue to grow. Our marketing team is the first to get some extra support.
After my interview, a crew came to dismantle our deck; it took them a few hours; they took out an old dog house under our house, and today will be setting concrete for the new portion of the deck. Then, at about 10:00, our internet died; I worked with the company until about 11:00 before they deemed it worthy of a technician. By 1:30, we were back up, but our home without internet was like a contractor without a set of tools.
We were able to take a long walk with our pup and got all emails answered by the end of the day; we worked double time from 2:00 to 4:30. After that, we drove our guest down the hill, met her friend Kip, had a Lavosh for dinner, and then headed back home. Another beautiful evening with the love of my life.
I caught a story yesterday, according to ABC News; “For the first time in 39 years, Social Security payments made to retired Americans this year, and every year after, will exceed tax revenues. This fact comes in the wake of the pandemic’s economic downturn, according to a government report.” I never really planned on getting my social security; folks my age that pays attention have seen the writing on the wall; it becomes insolvent in 2033 or so. So I’m happy for all those before me that got to use my money; I’ll just rely on our ability to create a steady income stream.
A few months ago, I shared my views on Dr. Fauci; I’m not a fan, I called him a name, and a friend asked that I not send him my soup. He claimed Dr. Faccui was a national hero. Well, according to the New York Post: Dr. Anthony Fauci has been accused of lying under oath. This story comes after newly released documents appear to contradict his claims that the National Institute of Health did not fund gain-of-function research at China’s Wuhan lab.
Senator Rand Paul led the criticism against Fauci on Tuesday after the documents, obtained by The Intercept, detailed grants given to EcoHealth Alliance — the nonprofit that funneled federal funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for bat coronavirus research.
Included in the trove of documents is a previously unpublished grant proposal that EcoHealth Alliance, run by Peter Daszak, filed with Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.
Fauci has repeatedly insisted that NIH funding of the Wuhan lab does not constitute as “gain-of-function” research.”
Fauci continues his stance that we all must stay inside and, even when vaccinated, wear masks. The video of the hundreds of thousands of college football fans made Tony angry, and CNN had him on with some other guests to criticize the fans for their irresponsibility. I think American’s have shown they are over the government-controlled life guidance; I can attest after many shows at Red Rocks, people have taken back their freedoms.
My wife shared a story with me of a nurse that got fired after 29 years in the E.R. It seems she had some reservations about the vaccine, her doctor advised her not to get it, and the hospital fired her for not following their mandate. But I got some reassurance that our world had not gone completely mad when the president of Colorado Mesa University shared his school’s approach to managing the virus.
He explained that instead of demanding students do this or that, they chose to use critical thinking skills and almost make this a life lesson. They encourage vaccines and encourage students to do their own research and determine if they should choose the magic poke. Imagine giving people a choice as to what to do with their bodies. I fear the majority of the world is living in a dystopian time. I’ve shared many times, I’m not suffering, I’ve flourished during this pandemic, but I see a lot of suffering and concern about the future of our country and our world. So what can we do to impact our world? One man is doing his part to fight back. I caught a story on Twitter that he made large signs stating something to the effect of “We do not discriminate on race, color, creed, disability, or your vaccination status.” He is going door to door in New York to get store owners to post the sign to alert all; this is a “safe place.” But, of course, the notice will trigger some, and I wonder if the triggered believe in personal freedoms and personal responsibility.
A busy day today before we head down to Telluride tomorrow. We’re going to have one last little getaway before our busy season starts. We will work in the morning and then head to the box canyon. If you ever get to Colorado, might I suggest a stop in Telluride? This adventure will be my second trip in a month; I can’t wait to show off this little jewel to my bride.
I hope these words resonate with you, and if not, I’m sorry; I know I’m an opinionated old white guy. But, speaking of white guys, I noticed a lot of the new “relief” from the broke government is being dolled out equitably. Although I’m a fan of equality, I find equity to be held in the eye of the beholder. So, I’ll let that last statement simmer on the little easy bake oven of your mind; I’ll check in tomorrow.
