Greetings from Richmond, Indiana.  I’m at my wife’s parents’ estate, 80 acres laid back in the woods, holding shares cool like Fonzie, rolling lake St. Clair in a forty-foot Donzie.  But I digress.  Only four people understood what I did there, sorry to be so cryptic on a Sunday morning.

We got up yesterday, did our morning chores, my wife and I ran some errands. First, we picked up a baker’s dozen doughnuts from our local doughnut shop, General American Doughnuts Company.

I’m not a doughnut guy; I have not had one in years, but check this place out if you like doughnuts when in Indy!

We headed up to get a few pot pies for our evening and other upcoming events. Of course, you have to pre-order the pies, biscuits, and gravy is my favorite, but they have all kinds of options, a great addition when wondering what to take to your next gathering.

We headed back to our local homemade bread store and picked up some loaves and various salads for the evening.  Check it out here, a good find if visiting or living in Indianapolis.

We got home, loaded up the car, cousin and Parker Van Halen stayed home, they were going to have a day, and we made the drive over for Christmas dinner with our Dils family.  On the way, we met with more labor shortage issues when trying to get a quick lunch. A regular visit would have taken 30 minutes; three servers for an entire BW3 took us 1 hour and 30 minutes for a snack of wings. Don’t get mad if this happens to you; just enjoy the extra time with your partner.  Thank God for those willing to show up and serve.

We arrived at Judy’s; we typically hang out in the barn; our son-in-law Nick was there with their GSP Griffy, Carly, and Judy was in the house; we hung out in the barn until it was time to eat.  Carolyn and Wally showed up; it was a fantastic little family event.  We watched some basketball; at 9:00, I turned on the Loma fight, the power went off at 10:00, we went to bed and slept like large compacted gatherings of sand.

It’s morning, the pot pies are being made, Nick and Carly are outside, Judy and my Queen are in the kitchen.  We plan to exchange gifts this morning, hit the road, and return home. After that, we might head out and watch a game; it’s Sunday Funday.  I hope you find fun today, whatever that means to you!  One more week of work, and then we will roll into the holidays.  This time is a busy time for our company; we keep it low stress, balancing the work between our team members.

I don’t have much more to report; it’s pretty relaxing here, aside from the three dogs running around.  Remy is 10, a Chesapeake Bay, Krissy is maybe 100, and a Black Lab and Griffy is a year old and can jump about five feet straight up.

I think this morning is just trying to share my world, nothing agitating, nothing to point to that makes no sense.  There is a lot, but I’ll save those items for this upcoming week.  For now, it’s just a check-in; I hope you are doing well; enjoy this time with your family and friends.  It is the most magical time of the year.
