Happiness

Good morning, from Cabo; it's 80 degrees, the boats are heading out to get their treasure, the folks are walking below to get their coffee, and I'm up here just penning a few thoughts about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. First, I thought I would remind you of my preferred pronouns, which today are he, him, ha, how, huff, muff, tuff, de, durr, dah, dif, and wim hoff.

We walked five miles yesterday; we checked out the neighborhood, looking at homes and condos. I think we have agreed that we will begin taking a week a quarter and visiting and learning the city as we did with Denver. The flight here from Denver is 3 hours, not a bad haul; the ride from the airport is about 50 minutes, again, in line with our travel rules.

Today we will walk another five miles to have some chips; we are doing a street taco search, looking for the best Cabo street taco's. Yesterday we had our first; I chose chorizo, my wife had a beef tongue. After that, we headed back to the resort and sat by the pool for a couple of hours before heading back to our room. We had a lovely relaxing evening, and I suspect today will mirror yesterday.

We will work from the resort this morning; we have a couple of meetings to run and enjoy the sun and maybe hit the beach. We've yet to put our toes in the sand, preferring the poolside. However, I will say they are sensitive to COVID; everything is wiped, you cannot enter a store without someone shoving hand sanitizer in your hand. Masks are optional, which is nice.

If you look at places like Florida and Texas, they got it right; the rest of the world got it wrong. The virus is a bitch, but we cannot quit living our lives; we have to navigate it and live as if we may or may die tomorrow; anything is possible. The masking of our children will soon be viewed as child abuse; giving a child a shot of a vaccine made in a few short months with no testing is a mistake. But what do I know? I'm not a doctor; I'm just a man watching the world and asking questions about why things are the way they are.

I'm learning brevity is critical, so I'll end this little soup. Yes, I'm on vacation. Yes, I have a virtual meeting in 13 minutes, and I did sleep in, so I need to get to work. I hope these words found you in a comfortable place, one with love, joy, and happiness; I've titled this piece happiness; that's my word for today; you can steal it as well.
