“The good news is that the moment you decide that what you know is more important than what you have been taught to believe, you will have shifted gears in your quest for abundance. Success comes from within, not from without.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Friday, oh my, you look so darn handsome; thank you for stopping by.  The coffee is on the counter; grab a cup, don’t forget to add the Starbucks instant; it’s the best part of waking up.  The sunrise is fantastic; why not sit on the deck and let me churn out about 1000 words.  I’m sorry, what?  Oh yes, those deer are here most mornings; they stop by and say hello; I think they are friends with PVHT.

We worked at the house until 2:30, headed to town; Bay had brought our vehicle back, so she ran some errands with us. First, I got my T-shot, then we headed to pick up some household items.  As we drove, we listened to NPR, and Bay asked, what is this?  I explained it was radio for people much more intelligent and wiser than us.

If you listen, you can hear the smugness of every voice; they know more than you; if they say it, it is a fact.  But NPR has a way of shading every story; Conservatives are evil, Liberalism rules the day, don’t think for yourself, let them think for you.

If you don’t mind, I thought I  might break down NPR and their messaging and would like you to say a prayer for anyone that uses that as their sole news source. But, unfortunately, NPR has a few veins they want to hit with their needle of misinformation.

They have a trifecta of Race, Climate Change, and COVID.  But as you peel the layers back, you can see a few more areas of attack. So I pulled up their site this morning, and let me do a blow by blow of their “news.” First, Florida is bad; the Governor is an evil man, anyone that does not follow the CDC guidelines should be shunned from society.  Freedom is not suitable for you. Second, they have a story about where in the country you should mask indoors (in your home) no matter your vaccination status.  Folks, you can’t make this up.

Next up, The Delta Variant is Surging, and you are going to die.  There is no nuance about the vaccinated vs. the unvaccinated; breakthrough cases are the norm, stay inside and wear your mask or else.  Privatization is terrible; we need government control of every possible system; capitalism is broken.  These are our tax dollars at work; we pay for this misinformation if you don’t know.

Race is a critical component of every story; here’s one “Ukraine’s First Black Lawmaker is now also its first gold medalist in Tokyo.”  Oh, this one’s great “Romance Writers of America was doing better with race – until a recent award choice.”  The article points out the award went to a hero that murdered  Native Americans at wounded knee.  History, as you know, is Racist.

The police are evil; the DOJ is launching an investigation into the Phoneix Police Department to treat the homeless; I guess they were trying to move some people from a public place, and that is not good; the homeless have rights.  Never mind the rights of the taxpayers who fund society.

About once an hour, you are reminded that January 6th was the worst day in our countries history.  In addition, Orange Man Bad is the reason for every issue we face today, inflation, crime, the immigration crisis; you name it, it’s the last administration’s fault.

There is a lot of talk about misinformation these days, and I agree. But, unfortunately, most media are spinning tales of fear and hate; get the widow on the set; we need dirty laundry.  Here’s a fun fact, CNN fired three employees for not getting vaccinated, but last month brought back someone caught masturbating on a Zoom call.  You cannot make this up.

Oh, and CNN, the host of their top-rated program, did not report on the top story of the day.  In fairness, the host’s brother was found to be a serial sexual abuser of women. But, one of the most powerful men in the country is proven as a #metoo dragon, and the host does not mention it. Interestingly, when his brother was killing all the older adults in New York, he was hailed as a hero and the antithesis of the evil Orange Man.

Moving on, we attended an event yesterday afternoon.  We met about 35 folks for a drink and some great conversation.  It was nice to see so many people that I had only met on Zoom until that day.  My wife and I will try fly fishing for the first time with a new friend, and we agreed to set up some time to have some visitors at our house.

I hope you have a great day; I caution you about what news source you use to fill your mind.  I’ve mentioned Breaking Points before; I chipped in some money to get Krystal and Sagar going; it’s a centrist view of the world, find it on youtube and become a premium subscriber.   If you want to see a long-form interview with the two journalists, find the Joe Rogan Episode that features them after the launch of their new program.

I’m noticing that sharing good news helps people with their day; the above can’t be classed as good news, so let me share some good stuff as I wind this one down.  Every person I spoke with last night at the business event was killing it.  Their business has never been better; the housing market continues on a roll, anecdotally we are having our best year ever, and our team is performing like a well-oiled machine.

I’m going to work this morning and then take my wife to Golden to get some lunch and shop.  We have plans to meet some friends tonight and then this weekend just hanging out together, together, and with Bay, she’s a fun third wheel, we have plans to hike tomorrow, a big hike, we might invite some friends or just keep it the four of us. So enjoy this day, made by something bigger than ourselves.
