“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
— Marianne Williamson

Good morning beautiful people; how are you?  No, really, how are you?  I ask you every day, but most of you just think I’m polite; stop for a moment and answer the question, please and thank you. Please do me a favor and check on your four B’s (Doug Mcghee); Body, Balance, Being, and Business.  Grade yourself, and it might indicate where you need to get to work.

I woke up feeling fantastic.  We got 9 hours of sleep last night, kept the booze to a minimum, we dined with my business coach and his gorgeous wife, Lynn.  Bob has been one of our keys to success in CO; he and his wife have become friends; we try and now dine once a quarter to catch up; we learned last night we had some Michigan connections, if you live long enough, paths will cross.

I’m starting my day with a coffee bomb; what is a coffee bomb?  First, you take a cup of the world’s most robust coffee in the free world, Death Wish Coffee, and then you add 3.3 grams of Starbucks instant granules.  It’s a kick in the head and other parts of your body, but a joyful kick of black love.  I bought 10 pounds on Amazon of Death Wish; I encourage you to do the same if you are coffee people.  If not, do not buy Death Wish Coffee.  If you use code “word soup,” $5.00 will be donated to help children born with no pinky toe, a passion of mine.

We are working here until 10:00, then will head to Telluride.  We are taking one last long weekend before our busy season starts, our mother-in-law was to visit, but that trip got canceled, so we are making an alternative pivot, and my wife will get to shop and dine in a beautiful box canyon.  I hear there is a music fest this weekend starting tonight; what are the chances we land in another music fest?

I just got a text from a man I met about 15 years ago in the basement of a library.  Bob had a food truck and needed some help; we helped him and have kept in touch mainly through social media over the years.  He sent me a text at 6:21 a.m.  and asked, “are you still doing insurance?”  I advised, of course, I was in CO and would call him at 9:00 to see if I could help him.  Depending on his needs, I will have one of my Indiana agents work with him, I have faith in my team to follow our process, and our service team is one of the best in the nation; we’ve been called the Rolling Stones of the Insurance Industry, all policies are covered in Brown Sugar.

Our deck project is moving along with great speed and ease; there was a concern if we did not rebuild, our new hot tub would slide down the hill. Although we entertain a lot, I didn’t want a hot tub of friends taking a free ride down 8232, so friends and family, when you visit, the hot tub is back in business, and we have no fear of a free ride. Therefore, we will not participate in the Edgar Winter Group activity.

It’s smoky here; the sunrise is tinged with orange mist; it’s very hobbit-like.  The mountains have never been greener; we had a fox last night’s visit.  As we were getting ready for bed, PVHT ran down and rang her bell, which meant, “Hey, I’d like to go outside.”  My wife walked down and let her out, and she shot out the door after her friend, that promptly ran away.  Our zoo is a playground for our pup; she’s in puppy heaven.

And now, for a little social commentary, I filled up my gas tank, and the bill was $66.00. So it was about $45.00 a tank; I am trying to figure out what happened in the last nine months that would create such a significant price difference; I think the word is inflation, strange timing.  I’ve noticed the cost of everything going up; groceries, gum, and giraffe meat is up; I wonder if you, too, are seeing that your value is being devalued.

The southern border is no longer a top story, but I believe it’s still a shit show.  But when you leave hundreds or maybe thousands of U.S. citizens stranded under the rule of terrorists, the illegal entry of thousands of folks a day seems like a 3rd-page news story.  Without borders, we have no country.  I’m very concerned about our commander in chief; who do you think is calling the shots?  Any chance we could get some signatures for a recall like they are doing to that fellow in CA?

I got a note from a friend that he is considering pulling his kids out of public school for an online experience called Acton Academy, a one-room schoolhouse based in Austin, TX.  If you are tired of your local school offering, either move to the Monroe Central School District in Indiana or visit:

https://start.actonacademy.org

It’s time we question everything; what are they teaching our children?  Why are the supply chains being compromised? Why does it seem perceived people in power like Fauci lie to the American People without consequence? Some speak of misinformation, but I wonder who gets to deem the information accurate or bullshit? I know, and you know, and it’s the few of us against the rest of you.

There is a war raging for the heart and soul of our nation.  If you are not aware, let me be the first to tell you, we are moving in a negative direction.  The recent jobs report was an embarrassment; once we remove the free money, folks will be forced to return to work, but I question the work ethic of anyone that chose to sit home and collect free cash instead of doing their fair share.  I think a fair interview question these days is, “what have you been doing these last six months?”

Ah, the blitherings of an old white guy. I’m blessed beyond measure, but I’m sensing all is not right in our world.  You can shut your eyes and cover your ears and put tape on your pretty mouth, or you can join the small rebel force; in the end, our merry band will win over the dark side. It’s time to open your eyes, listen with intent, and help us return to a system of equality over equity.
