Well, hey, good to see you; thank you for stopping by; let me grab your coat, hat, gloves. The coffee is on the counter; your favorite cup is in its usual space; join me while I spin some tales, some true, some not accurate.

It's about 5:30 a.m.; I got up early, I've got a meeting at 7:30, then a full day of work; I will say this has been one of the most productive weeks in a very long time. We had our all-staff meeting yesterday; it went well; good to see everyone. I'm very impressed with our team, another couple of interviews today, my role is to prospect for talent, and I'm finding I'm good at picking quality humans.

Bay went to the condo for an appointment, we worked from home, the snow started about one, and I woke up to about a foot of fresh powder. It's beautiful out; my pup is up, she's been out a couple of times, it's been a busy morning for pre 6:00 a.m. I would be remiss if I didn't share I'm drinking Death Wish Coffee; it's the only coffee I serve at the mountain house.

Today, I will do a public service and remind everyone about Title VII. If you are not aware, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlines specific protections for employees regarding race, religion, color, sex, and national origin. Learning about the Act ensures that employers treat candidates and employees fairly throughout all stages of the hiring process and during employment.

The seventh amendment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, called Title VII, prohibits employers from discriminating against employees and job applicants based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. In the late 1970s, Congress amended the Act by passing the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978, which clarified pregnancy discrimination as unlawful sex discrimination.

Because of the Act, employers cannot discriminate in any aspect of employment, including hiring, firing, segregating, or denying benefits to protected class members. Also, they must not discriminate concerning assignments, promotions, and pay. 

Violation of the Act may result in legal action against the offending company. That's why it's essential to understand the rules related to the Title VII Act. This Act applies to:

• Employers with 15 or more employees

• Local, state, and federal governments

• Public and private universities

• Employment agencies

• Labor organizations

This federal law mandates that employers treat everyone fairly, regardless of religious, racial, sexual, and national characteristics. Therefore, hiring decisions based on stereotypes violate the law.

Okay, so we have a President that seems to have violated Title VII. Interestingly, the media have not pointed this out; it's up to individuals like me to do a little research and point this out. Are you comfortable with this violation, and if so, why?'

When Justice Bryer announced his retirement, the President could have said; we will find the most qualified person in the country to fill the position. But, instead, he said we are going to find the most talented woman of color. I'm not sure how this does not violate Title VII; if you are a legal scholar, can you tell me why this is not illegal.

I have a recommendation for the President; Candace Owens checks all the boxes he has outlined. She's a young, intelligent, talented, and informed woman of color; let's see if she makes the interview roster? But unfortunately, diversity is not only about race and gender but also about ideology.

In other news, did you see the Durham report? You probably did not; most media are not reporting on the bombshell. Our country was told that a former President was a Russian Operative for three years, and there was massive proof. We wasted three years on that false narrative, and it helped divide our country. It now appears that the other candidate created the report and spied on the former President. I think this might be worse than watergate; the next few months will get interesting.

It's a little after 6:00, and the sun is starting to rise. I love watching the sun come up; it begins with a small band of orange, then the blues arrive, and then the sun makes its way over the eastern sky; it's a daily light show most never see. My vantage point is a little unique; I sit 8300 feet above sea level, I can see about 180 miles from our vantage point; I'm very blessed.

I think we are at the end of the pandemic; mask mandates are ending, people want to return to normal, but some are fighting back, wanting the orders to stay in place forever. For example, in Reno, Nevada, a group of college kids marched to remove their rights. It's like someone took the 60's and flipped it on its head. Sixty years ago, people fought for the individual, and today they fight for the government and others to control our daily lives; I don't understand it. So, again, legal scholars, please weigh in?

Well, that's enough muck raking for one day. Maybe I opened your eyes, or perhaps I confirmed your thoughts. But, something is amiss, smells funny, and most ignore the stench. But I'll point out what I do not understand and ask for clarity; I think it's human nature to seek wise counsel when things don't make sense.

I've got a busy day; I like it this way; I plan on getting much more active in the coming weeks, months, and years. I plan to expand and create wealth for myself and my team; I will execute and make our community a little brighter, funnier, and more enjoyable. The cornfield kid is just getting started.
