"Yet as I read the birth stories about Jesus, I cannot help but conclude that though the world may be tilted toward the rich and powerful, God is tilted toward the underdog."
— Philip Yancey
Someone has a big birthday tomorrow! Let's see how old he would be; I think he would be 2022 tomorrow. The baby was so powerful he reset time; we are now living in the A.D. period, and do you know what A.D. stands for? Most people think it's after death, but it stands for Anno Domini, which is Latin for the year of our Lord. So it might be an excellent time for him to return. Armageddon anyone?
The problem with society today is that we don't have a person that can speak to all people. Instead, we have people leading two sects, two thought patterns. We live in an A and B society where we almost forgot 26 letters populate our alphabet. Remember that Crayola has 64 colors, not two. With the advent of computers, we now have more than 64 colors, according to Goog. "With modern browsers supporting the full spectrum of 24-bit color, there are 16,777,216 different color possibilities. Use our color picker to explore all 16.7 million of them, or if that's too many, check out our color charts for a selection of palettes focused on flat design, Material Design, and web-safe colors."
The next time you begin to judge another human based on one statement, idea, or action, remember that the human you are evaluating is like you and has many different thoughts and ideas about life. You might disagree about one thing, but you also might align with them on millions of other concepts or ideas. We live in a time when some want to divide while others seek to unite. It's an excellent time to let your differences with others be a positive instead of a negative. It's ok to think differently and then compare notes; why do you feel or think that way, and maybe I've misunderstood the real issue? Has the art of conversation been lost on the next generation?
We gave our staff off yesterday afternoon; we like to give the gift of time; our team pulled together and got their work done; I'm excited to end a great year and think 2022 will be our best year; I'm very optimistic about our future. I'm thinking about buying our staff shades; the future is that damn bright.
Let's check in with the news, "A Baltimore officer after being shot in a patrol car." Remind me what lives matter? Keona Holley, 39, was on duty in her patrol car when she was shot about 1:30 a.m. on 12/16/2021 in southern Baltimore. Travon Shaw and Elliott Knox were arrested and charged in the ambush. It might be a nice gesture to say a little prayer for the family of Keona; I suggest her life matters, as do the two men that took her life. Yes, BLM and also ALM.
"Fauci predicts the worst for the Omicron variant in the U.S." Well, now, that's a shocker, the man that has been wrong at every turn has to flip-flopped on almost every issue is offering us another round of fear porn. But, hidden in the article is a little line that should stand out to everyone. "said that there are still doubts about its degree of severity since there are studies that indicate that it is milder than other strains." Folks, you will get the cold; it's almost a guarantee these days. Do not lock yourself in; you are free to roam and spread the virus and give your friends and family natural immunity, which is rarely discussed. Get your vaccine and live like it's 2019.
Indianapolis hospital systems to Hoosiers: "The situation is dire." Three hospital systems in Indianapolis are pleading with Hoosiers to protect themselves against COVID-19. So here's a question, aside from getting vaxed, what else do you suggest? The story does urge people with mild cases of COVID to avoid the emergency room and go to a local med check. I got my physical last week, and there was a note on the door to go home if you had a sore throat, chills, or flu-like symptoms. Are the previous two paragraphs congruent?
Here's an idea, be a good human. Please do what you think is best to navigate this world and allow others the freedom to do life as they see fit. If you want to wear a mask, please wear a mask. But, if you're going to take your chances and not get poked, that's up to you. We live in a time where we can now tell others how to live, and speaking of telling others how to live, is it ok to say to folks to lose weight? Stop drinking so much, stop smoking; where is that line of what one can suggest these days?
We will take Parker Van Halen for a walk this morning; we will go to our local bread maker and pick up a loaf. We bought some groceries yesterday; my wife and I will hunker down today and tomorrow; we leave for Florida on Monday and sit on a beach in 80 plus degree warmth celebrating the new year. We will hang with Cousin, my friend Greg, and some other Florida friends. Is this the year we invest in a beach home?
We plan to buy a home someplace warm, Air B and B it when not there; we have learned from our house you can add to your pot of gold with a lovely home that is not used 100%. Once sold, our investment in our downtown Denver condo should give us plenty of money for a downstroke for our next home. In addition, our commercial property investments continue to cash flow positively, giving us another stream of income. So I think some good advice to the younger generation is to buy property, buy as much as you can, we live in a monopoly world and having greenhouses and red motels makes one financially stable. Remember, anything is possible if you set your mind to achieve success.
Merry Christmas, remember the reason for the season; a dirty hippy baby that would walk everywhere and build up his gang of Crips and Bloods. The little God/Dude was born in a barn and became the most crucial God/Dude to walk the earth. He hung out with hookers and made some fine wine. He walked on water and taught his possie how to fish for men. May 2022 be a year we begin following the teachings of the baby that would later be called J.C.
