"It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done."

5:34 am, coffee is made, my cat and I are up, and today's coffee cup is sponsored by Walker Motors in Muncie, Indiana. I've got a meeting at 7:30 and then a slew of meetings wrapping up at 4:20 this afternoon; I think we will hang out, cook, Bay, and I will play some Gin; I expect a great day.

I must share a robot story. Last May, I bought our first Shark Robot for our new wood floors at our mountain house. It's incredible; the little disc takes off at 4:00 daily and cleans our floors; with a dog, we have a little hair, and she does a great job of keeping our floors tidy. So when in Indy, I bought another, and when we headed west, I brought our Indy robot to clean our upstairs.

When we arrived home, I noticed that our original robot was getting stuck about eight feet from her base. I called the company, they did a video chat and deemed it broken, within warranty, and are shipping me a brand new robot. If you are interested in a great product, the Shark robot is hard to beat!

My sister called me a couple of nights ago, our father was hacked, and we agreed that we needed to get him set up with Lifelock. I'm a long-time client; they protect my personal information; I recommend the service for anyone breathing. So anyway, I was on the website yesterday to set up my father's account; I was asked if I would accept their cookies; I like cookies, so I said "yes."

After a few minutes of dinking around on the site, I decided to do a three-way call with my father and the company to get him set up. Unfortunately, as I was on the call, my computer began telling me that I had been hacked, all my personal information was being removed, and my credit card data was exposed. After getting my dad hooked up, I immediately shut my computer down and called my tech company.

The tech told me this was nothing more than scareware and asked if I had accepted any cookies recently? I said, "yes, from life lock," and he laughed, "life lock got hacked." They will fix it soon, but let's scan your computer to ensure you are ok. He advised I did the correct thing shutting down; after a long scan, I learned I was in good shape. So the moral of this story is beware of cookies and scareware!

I worked in our dining room all day, cleaning up email working on a couple of claims; I posted a job on Indeed, looking to create a bench of qualified talent. These days, my main job is to find exciting people looking to join the great resignation and join our team. So now is a time to go on offense. My friend Mike was kind enough to give me some pointers on how to write an ad. Before starting this soup, I looked at my email and had three resumes waiting for my review.

Our hiring process is simple; I reach out and ask if they are open to a virtual meeting with me and a couple of my team. The first call is to learn more about who they are, not their skill set. If we like them and they feel the same, our operations manager does a second virtual meeting with other team members. If that goes well, we begin testing, and if we have an open position, we offer a contract; if we don't, we advise the person, they are a phone call away from joining our firm.

Regarding my 7:30 am meeting; it's my monthly thanksgiving for the mind meeting, fourteen men, led by one woman; we talk about life, check in and support each other, trying to be the best human being we can be. I'm stuck at the mountain house, so I'll join virtually; I think we have three joining virtually and the rest in person. So hopefully, moving forward, I can join my group in person.

I suspect we will get out this afternoon; yes, we got a foot of snow, but it's supposed to be close to 50 degrees today; I think we can get out and head down the hill. Unfortunately, I'm a little late for my testosterone shot; I'll try and knock that out later today if possible.

My friend just sent me a text about seeing Trevor Hall at Red Rocks on the 28th of April. I don't know Trevor Hall, but I would see a dancing penguin at Red Rocks; I suspect this might be our first show of the year. We caught ten shows last year, and our goal is to hit 15 this year; the venue is about 20 minutes from our home; it's a gift.

Well, that's enough, don't you think, enough of me dishing on my life, giving life hacks to make your life better. I had the most productive week of work in many years; interesting how chaos can sharpen the mind's ax; I have not felt this amount of accomplishment in many moons. But, I'm happy content and can't wait to see what the future holds for me, my wife, and my band of misfits. Life ebbs and flows, and it is essential to remember to enjoy both.
